The 27th Sneh Milan Samaroh was held on 20th April 2015 on the occasion of 120th Birth Anniversary of our Founder Dr. Mohan Sinha Mehta, at Vidya Bhawan Auditorium.
The Chief Guest was Ms. Nafeesa Banu, former teacher of Vidya Bhawan and Vidya Bandhu Shri Chander Singh R. Mehta, Advisor to Hindustan Zinc Limited on C.S.R., Chaired the Samaroh. The Guest of Honor was Shri Riaz Tehsin, President of Vidya Bhawan Society. The guests lighted the lamp and garlanded the photograph of 'Bhai Sahab' Dr. Mohan Sinha Mehta.
Ms. Pushpa Sharma, Vice President of the Sangh, welcomed the guests and presented the report of last year. She mentioned the renovation of classrooms of Senior Section, development of a garden in front of the statue of Shri J.C.W. Rust, complete renovation of Junior School building along with construction of new toilets and shade on the roof, scholarships given by Vidya Bandhus and their affection for their alma mater and participation in its activites and development. As she remembered Late Shri Harish Kapuria, Hony. Secretary of VBVBS who passed away on 27 March 2015, everyone in the auditorium mourned the demise of a dedicated Vidya Bhandhu. His daughter Ms. Chanda, son-in-law Shri Amit and grand children were introduced to the audience; they spoke of his love and devotion for Vidya Bhawan And VBVBS.
The 27th issue of 'Vidya Bandhu Mukhapatra', edited by Dr. Kusum Mathur, was released. The issue has been dedicated to Shri Harish Kapuria..
In the presence of more than 350 Vidya Bandhus and their family members around 20 students of the batch of 1979-80 were honoured. Retired teachers Dr. Vishwa Vijaya Singh and Ms. Rashida Banu, and mess worker Shri Kishan were felicitated for their services to Vidya Bhawan. Ms. Yashvi, student of Vidya Bhawan School and recipient of Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award, was felicitated by the Sangh.
Vidya Bandhus of the honoured batch- Ms. Rashmi Surana, Shri Sharat Kataria, Shri Murtza Ali, Shri Praveen Bhatnagar, Shri Jaydeep and others shared their experiences of student life in Vidya Bhawan. The batchmates have re-united two days before and had gone camping too.The batch honoured Shri Jamnala Rao, a dedicated worker of Vidya Bhawan; Vidya Bandhus were ecstatic to hear him sing again the nursery rhymes.
Shri Gopal Bumb, Recreation Minister of the Sangh, thanked the Vidya Bandhus for their participation. The programme was conducted by Vidya Bandhu Ms. Shubham Sharma; and was followed by a sumptuous Sneh Bhoj.
